The Dunamis Institute was formally established August of 2010. The teaching approach, programs and the faculty who provide the teaching however have been developed for many decades. First with R.A. Torrey in 1890-1910, The Rev. Archer Torrey in Korea at Jesus Abbey in from 1966- 2002. Dr. Brad Long – in Taiwan with the Presbyterian Lay Training Center 1980 – 1989. This stream was merged with the stream of Presbyterian-Reformed Ministries International (Formally Presbyterian Charismatic Communion ) when Dr. Brad Long became Executive Director in 1990 and launched the Dunamis Project in 1991.
Since 1990 this equipping ministry and teaching materials have been developed and expanded worldwide through Presbyterian-Reformed Ministries Dunamis Project. The faculty has been developed through the Dunamis Fellowship International which is a missionary order of men and women anointed by the Holy Spirit to provide this teaching and ministry worldwide. These well spiritual, people and educational assets have been brought under the Institute and enable us to offer a well developed curriculum which is grounded in the Bible, based on a Reformed theological framework, and time tested to be transferable and effective in many different cultural contexts.
This portal to the Dunamis Institute is still under development as is the Institute itself.

From 1991 until now the PRMI Leadership Development Initiative has primarily been expressed through the Dunamis Project. This was originally the six intensive equipping events that were held every six months in a strategic location.
From its inception to the present under the mandate of the Dunamis Project there has been the development of many different teaching materials based on the foundations established in the original six units.
This includes published books, videos, and different expressions for different venues such as advanced ministry courses and Ignite for local congregations. Enabling the implementation the Dunamis teaching in many different contexts led to the formation of the Dunamis Fellowship in 2002. All teachers in the Dunamis Project must be active members of the Dunamis Fellowship which insures that they are grounded in both Biblical Doctrine as well embody the Kingdom of God. This whole equipping initiative has out grown its original container of the Dunamis Project and now is part of all that PRMI does. Dunamis tracks have been or are being offered in a number of locations in North America, UK , Asia, Africa and Latin America. Thousands of people have been through the equipping process and are working to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit in their various contexts. From home groups, to congregations, to mission organizations.
The Lord birthed the vision of what at this point we are calling the Dunamis Institute. To visit the Dunamis Institute website click HERE.

The Holy spirit is working to equip and commission Korean pastors and church leaders to implement the Dunamis teaching in Korea through the Korea Dunamis Network. These leaders are being trained to use Dunamis materials, including some specially prepared in Korea, in their congregations. The Korea Dunamis Network, under the supervision of the Rev. Ben Torrey, PRMI Representative to Korea and Co-Chair of the KDN Operating Committee, currently runs three Dunamis seminars on an annual basis in various parts of the country: Gateways to Empowered Ministry (Dunamis 1) in local regions in the spring, In the Spirit's Power (Dunamis 2) in the summer and a new one of the each of the following four seminars each November until all six have been completed.

The Rev. Ben Torrey and Josephine Choi receive prayer at the Annual Dunamis Fellowship meeting which took place in Black Mountain, NC in January 2011.
